the daily gulf cart (and only known photograph of The Paraffin Lutheran), 6-29-20

First off, how is the weather in Tampa? David Byrne sez it best:

All wet! Hey you might need a raincoat
Shakedown! Dreams walking in broad daylight
Three hun-dred six-ty five de-grees
Burning down the house

Now on to our newly decorated gulf cart. Whee!

Susan loves her cats! Sing it Tom!

What’s new pussycat, whoa
What’s new pussycat, whoa, oh whoa
Pussycat, pussycat, you’re so thrilling
And I’m so willing to care for you
So go and make up your big little pussycat eyes
Pussycat, pussycat, I love you, yes I do
You and your pussycat eyes
What’s new pussycat, whoa

Jerry sings these lovely words:

Nine mile skid on a ten mile ride, hot as a pistol but cool inside
Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile
Nothin’ left to do but smile, smile, smile

What does Ian sing?

Do you still remember
December’s foggy freeze
When the ice that clings on to your beard
It was screaming agony
Hey and you snatch your rattling last breaths
With deep-sea diver sounds
And the flowers bloom like
Madness in the spring

From The Madame Tussauds traveling art exhibition *, Ordinary Figures in History, we have the only known photo of The Purging Lutheran as a candle-like statue. Note the shiny emollient applied to the cheek. This is to keep it from melting onto the seats and floorboard. Susan enjoyed taking a ‘selfie’ (or a ‘waxy’ as Madame T likes to call it) of herself and The Lanolin Lutheran.

And, lastly, three evil aliens awaiting orders.

Isaiah 51:9-11

Wake up, wake up, flex your muscles, God!
Wake up as in the old days, in the long ago.
Didn’t you once make mincemeat of Rahab,
    dispatch the old chaos-dragon?
And didn’t you once dry up the sea,
the powerful waters of the deep,
And then made the bottom of the ocean a road
for the redeemed to walk across?
In the same way God’s ransomed will come back,
come back to Zion cheering, shouting,
Joy eternal wreathing their heads,
    exuberant ecstasies transporting them—
and not a sign of moans or groans.

* in this case, traveling by golf cart
