The wind isn’t even blowing. (( sigh ))
It’s Day-Who-Knows-How-Many? in the household. Aleksandrs is up in his room. Susan is poking on her I-Pad with Kaden SuperPup at her side. I’m doing the ‘scroll-tap, scroll-tap, scroll-tap’ on Twitter. The coffeemaker and the Keurig are both doing double duty. The (gas) fireplace is on and its blower is blowing. One cat usually tries to sit on my chest and t’other is pushing pens and keys off the table as well as having dragged one of the television remotes off to Nowheresville, baby. Repeat today, tomorrow and the next day.
Here is a Hollywood-like representation of the three of us fighting off the boredom. Regardless of our desperate situation I have to admit I don’t look so bad in a Roman skirt.
So. What’s today’s topic? Nuthin’, just nuthin’. I have some lazy-good-for-nothing pictures in my photo application which haven’t been contributing to society. Generally, I find or take pictures and use them for posts then delete them. Some I like a lot and keep them in my pholder for future use online. Here goes.
My first picture, a keeper, shows James Cann as Sonny from The Godfather after he arrives at the tollbooth. I use this photo sometimes to describe a particular crummy day in the life of Janis Janisovitch.
Have you’ve ever wondered what happened to Sonny in the long run? Despite Marlon Brandon’s over-acting as Don Corleone’s reaction to ‘my boy’ lying in the morgue it sure looks like Sonny ‘got over it’. The ‘magic’ of Hollywood.
If you know someone with kids and little to do you might recommend this game to them. If nothing else it can teach them the importance of doing their part.
For parents who do not believe in teaching their children the dignity of work but, rather, encourage short term solutions to long range problems then there is this toy.
Speaking of politics, are you familiar with The Gadsden Flag? What does it represent? Since The Revolutionary War, the flag has seen resurgences as a symbol of American patriotism, disagreement with government, or support for civil liberties.
Since the onset of the recent Corona Virus situation The Gadsden Flag has been resurged as The Asp-choo! Flag.
Rolling on with the political platform, if you are a member of Congress (no matter your party affiliation*), this is from Sir Topham Hatt to you!
What about religion? There are many who consider this virus outbreak as a punishment from God on the people of Earth, particularly everyone’s political and religious enemies, for the sins of wrong-thinking, wrong-acting, wrong-praising, wrong-speaking, wrong-wronging and the such. Read this and know –
God does not cause people to perish but rather this from 2 Peter 3:8-9:
“Don’t overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving everyone space and time to change.”
Face it, if God was to kill people for disobedience then He would have had all of us wiped off Earth long ago. You’re alive to be saved and, if saved, to make disciples of all nations. Still, if you want a picture of God’s ‘judgment’ via
AIDS, Covid-19, Hurricane Katrina, earthquakes galore, locusts flying in and out of your front yard, global warming, global cooling, global norming, rain, drought, disease, birth defects, poverty, the plague, Spanish Flu, dams bursting, buildings falling over, forest fires, British soccer riots, tsunamis, heat waves, snow, sleet, avalanches, stampedes, radiation poisoning, landslides, volcanic eruptions, lightning strikes, solar storms and Disney’s takeover of the Star Wars franchise
then here are The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse:
From this when Adam and Eve first sinned and God made the ground untenable …
He told the Man:
“Because you listened to your wife
and ate from the tree
That I commanded you not to eat from,
‘Don’t eat from this tree,’
The very ground is cursed because of you;
getting food from the ground
Will be as painful as having babies is for your wife;
you’ll be working in pain all your life long.
The ground will sprout thorns and weeds,
you’ll get your food the hard way,
Planting and tilling and harvesting,
sweating in the fields from dawn to dusk,
Until you return to that ground yourself, dead and buried;
you started out as dirt, you’ll end up dirt.”
To this as Creation waits for the reconciliation between God and all mankind …
For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
To this, the ‘transformation’ of the Earth, not as a new and different one, but as originally intended.
I saw Heaven and earth new-created. Gone the first Heaven, gone the first earth, gone the sea.
The Earth God made is a perfect Earth. For Him to replace it would suggest He did something wrong in the first place but to be transformed as Jesus was on The Mount of Transfiguration. Jesus wasn’t ‘changed’ but showed His three disciples His true appearance.
I think this is enough.
*this excludes the USSP, The United States Pirate Party. It is an American political party founded in 2006 by Brent Allison and Alex English. The party’s platform is aligned with the global Pirate movement, and supports reform of copyright laws to reflect open source and free culture values, government transparency, protection of privacy and civil liberties. Many Pirates explicitly decline to identify with any particular political ideology or philosophy. They are driven to “do what works” rather than being driven by a particular ideology.
