the daily purge 6-26-18

This curling brush should not be mistaken for a curling brush, the broom used in the sport of curling. While this curling brush is useful for dandifying a young woman’s hair it is hardly appropriate to sweep the ice surface in the path of a curling stone. It’s self-limiting as the cord is barely able to reach a few feet past any electrical outlet, certainly nowhere near a curling sheet (the area where curling is ‘played’). It seems unfair to compare the two because ‘apples and oranges’, you know.

BUT! And this is a big ‘but’ …

… but what if there was such a thing as competitive hair curling? Ahhh! See? Then you could mistake the two types of curling brush.

BUT! And this is a big ‘but’ …

… but does the world need two sports called ‘curling’? Most likely competitive hair curling would eventually be known as ‘curls’, certainly distinctive enough not to be confused with ‘curling’.

So, as we fall headlong into what Alvin Toffler, author of the book, “Future Shock” called “a super-industrial society”, it would be wise to be aware of our inability to process this overwhelming change. One sport called ‘curling’. Another sport called ‘curling’? How many sports called ‘curling’ can society stand? Does just thinking about this make you feel disconnected? Even just a little woozy? If you are then consider yourself ‘future shocked’.

This curling brush is being sent to Goodw’ill for resale … or otter it be sent to Play It Again Sports, a resale shop for sporting goods?

James 1:19-21

Post this at all the intersections, dear friends: Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God’s righteousness doesn’t grow from human anger. So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.
