the daily purge 6-23-17

I got spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle
As I go ridin’ merrily along
And they sing, “Oh, ain’t you glad you’re single”
And that song ain’t so very far from wrong
Oh, Lillie Belle
Oh, Lillie Belle
Though I may have done some foolin’
This is why I never fell

The Purging Lutheran is considering adding a stage to the daily purge where bands would play live music or even have an open mic night for rank amateurs. I got excited while doing research for today’s purge. A bell on a cat collar? Spurs that jingle jangle jingle? The parallels are obvious. Any mouser worth his cat card knows being aloof is the way to go through life much like the hero in our song above.

So why get rid of the collar if the cool kitties love them so? Because it is too small.

Obadiah 1:10-12

Because of the violence against your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame; you will be destroyed forever. On the day you stood aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them. You should not gloat over your brother in the day of his misfortune, nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast so much in the day of their trouble.
