As you can tell by the packaging these are Hand Warmers and Toe Warmers. These are meant to be used inside your boots or socks to keep your tootsies warm and inside your mittens to keep your googoos warm.
Why do I want to stay warm, The P L?
Well, if you are outside in chilly weather and you need to carry logs to the back yard, operate heavy machinery, sit on a tree stand waiting for an unsuspecting stag, or are digging a large hole because of a lost bet then how much more tolerable is it to skate across a frozen river against Hans Brinker and his silver skates than with toasty toes and hotted finger tips? I’ll let you decide that.
I looked on the backs of these packs and they have an ‘active date’ of ’12 12 12′. A nermal American would translate it as meaning their usefulnesses expired on December 12, 2012. I am that nermal American. Have you ever seen a movie, usually a Western, where bad guys want to do bad things to good hombrés?. They tend to carry around a bag full of dynamite. They’ll either throw them one at a time like hand grenades to kill the good guys or use them collectively to blow up a dam to destroy the town down in the valley. But sometimes there is a twist in the plot where the bad guy’s lackey grabs the wrong bag of dynamite sticks. These dynamites are very old and as such have chemically transformed from handy, reliable BOOM! sticks into cranky, disagreeable tubes of nitroglycerine. The bad guy plots his crime underneath a huge boulder when he tells his lackey to drop the bag and make him a sandwich.
So does the same thing happen with way-out-of-date toe warmers? Will some poor fella who bought these at Goodwill have his boots and gloves burst into flames as he defends his side in a snowball fight? Who has a hose to put him out? Do you roll him in the snow? Are there health insurance implications? Keep an eye out for fire-related items on your local news website.
James 2:26 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
