Candle: Day 3
By looking at squinting people you learn to squint. – Ovid
Q: Why the shaky photo, Mr. T. Purging L.?
A: Pick one: A tremor sent courtesy of the New Madrid Faultline; or an ultracaffeinated photo grapher; or crazy molecules shakin’ to a brand new beat. Your choice.
I am pretty sure this brings an end to our line of candle holders. I don’t know who designs them but I think they must be very cruel-hearted people. How does a candle get in there? How are they lit? Maybe I am out of touch with modern tallow technology but it just don’t make no sense.
Exodus 40:24-25 “He placed the lamp stand in the meeting tent, opposite the table, on the south side of the Dwelling, and he set up the lamps before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded him.”
The Lord seemed to have a good idea of what made a workable candle holder. Maybe with our constant falling away from Him we lose touch of the simple elements of life. We think too much and in our confusion we grasp at straws. Instead of just surrendering we dust ourselves off, stand proudly by our creations and call them ‘good’ no matter the result.
Obadiah 1:3 The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks and make your home on the heights, you who say to yourself, ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’
