It’s no surprise when you look at a pair of wooden cats staring at the garage door waiting to see who it is that you automatically start humming the Meow Mix jingle. But did you know that the song has lyrics beyond ‘meow, meow, meow, meow…’? Well, it does. And here they are:

I want turkey, salmon and chicken
Oceanfish flavors keep me lickin’

I want turkey, salmon and chicken
Oceanfish flavors keep me singin’

Now you know the cat’s meow means Meow Mix
Meow Mix, meow meow meow

(Usually about this time you’ll find a Scripture verse describing something about what’s been written to this point but the Bible makes no mention of cats. Anywhere. At all. Theologians conclude that this is not by any mistake on God’s part.)

These wooden cats belonged to Our Marta’s grandmother. She was a big fan of cats and kept these by her bedside. These are for My Marta to have in lieu of real fuzzy, furry cats who lay in a sunbeam in the middle of the bedroom.
