the daily purge 8-23-16

::: The letters on this band, WWJD, stand for What Would Jesus Do?, a question the wearer is supposed to ask of themselves under trying circumstances :::

Jesus once said it would never be easy to follow Him (Matthew 10:22). Unbelievers will punch you,

trip you as you walk by,

splash water as they drive by you on a rainy day,

lock you up in stocks,

burn you at the stake,

throw you in prison,

toss you in a volcano,

hang you upside down,

sully your name,

cheat you,

rob you,

hurt you to death,

or throw rocks at your house. Another less painful, but nearly as annoying, way of being persecuted is being made fun of by people who ask you, “Yeah, what would Jesus do, wisenheimer?” My sinful self wants to tell them that Jesus would say something unJesusly to them but that would certainly be wrong. It requires nothing on my part to become a Christian (Ephesians 2:1-5) but it is my responsibilty to increase my faith and become strong in the knowledge of God (1 Peter 2:1-5). As a Christian it is my duty to do my very veryiest in speaking His word intelligently (1 Peter 3:15), so feel free to ask The Purging Lutheran questions about The Lord so I can better equip myself for the road ahead. Please and thank you. This band was put in a box and sent to Goodwill.

Deuteronomy 11:18   “You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes
